Procurement Team Lead

This newly created vacancy is that of a Team Lead for Procurement Services and Operations. Reporting directly to the Global Procurement Director, you will be responsible for leading and developing teams of Buyers and Senior Buyers in various countries, including US, India, UAE & UK.
As the Procurement Team Lead you will be responsible for managing organisational high-profile workload/ managing individuals (up to 20 Buyers/ Senior Buyers). You will provide support and direction aligning with business strategic direction ensuring compliance to process and policies. Stakeholder, customer and supplier management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manages a highly skilled Team of Buyers/ Senior Buyers across the globe, mainly Costa Rica/ India/ US/ UAE/ UK aligned to new accounts.
- Performs highly complex work activities covering technical, financial and quality aspects.
- Owns and manages specific project work to successful outcomes and deadlines.
- Promotes compliance with relevant legislation and the need for services, products and working practices to provide equal access and equal opportunity to people with diverse abilities.
- Identifies and endorses opportunities to adopt new technologies and digital services.
- Initiates influential relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and partners at senior management level, including industry leaders.
- Leads on collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders across competing objectives within the organisation.
- Execute Buying activities as requested by our customers.
- Ensure all day-to-day functions and tasks of the buying and/ or support teams are carried out with due care.
- Seek advice or escalate any new or unusual issue to the relevant Procurement Director.
- Respond and manage customer’s and supplier’s escalations.
- Make sure weekly reports are delivered to customers or to management.
- Maintain effective communications with the other departments in Delivery as well as Finance, Legal, HR etc.
- Evaluate team performances and conduct regular 121s.
- Attend the scheduled Team meetings with their Procurement Director.
- Manage team holiday requests and ensure appropriate coverage during busy periods.

Qualifications:
- Over 5 years experience in management in both public and private sector roles including considerable strategic procurement experience within blue chip organisations.
- Has developed business knowledge of the activities and practices of own organisation and those of suppliers, partners, competitors and clients.
